You will need to make sure that you prepare for the right HS&E Test via one of the official CITB Revision Materials (App, DVD, Download or Book).
Please note that after listening to our candidates’ feedback, there are a number of free apps and websites offering preparation materials which are unrelated to the test. Always make sure you are using a CITB developed resource to prepare for your test.

The operatives test examines HS&E awareness, helping to raise standards across the industry by ensuring all workers meet a minimum level of health, safety, and environmental awareness. It lasts 45 minutes and is comprised of 50 questions made up of both behavioural case studies and knowledge questions.
A minimum mark of 45 out of 50 is required to pass.

Specialist tests are taken in a variety of fields. They include questions surrounding the five core knowledge areas as well as additional questions relevant to the specialist area(s) chosen and require a 45 out of 50 marks to pass.
