The NEW IPAF HA+HU Harness Combined Course has been designed MEWP Operators required to be trained on the awareness and safe use of a full body Harness and lanyard systems.

Please note that the IPAF HA (Harness Awareness) Online Theory e-Learning Module would have to be completed in advance of your course attendance with us – this will be allocated upon booking.

Designed to instruct up to a maximum ratio of 10 delegates per instructor, the course also covers skills such as the selection and pre-use inspection of the equipment. Our industry leading course will provide delegates with the knowledge to understand the relevant Health & Safety Regulations, Guidance and Standards surrounding IPAF Harness Use and Inspection, in particular.

IPAF HA+HU Harness Combined Course Overview

Successful delegates will gain an understanding of the correct selection and pre-use inspection of safety harnesses and lanyards used for restraint on MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms).

1. IPAF Harness Awareness e-Learning Online Module (completed in advance before attending your course), which incorporates:

Introduction
Hierarchy of Person Fall Protective Equipment (PFPE)
Know your Equipment: Harness Systems
Anchor Points
Boom Platform Hazards: Stay Safe
Vertical Platform Hazards: Stay Safe
Pre-use Checks
Donning and Doffing
Cleaning and Storage
Summary
Final Online Theory Test (Pass Mark 24/30 – 80% Required)

2. IPAF MEWP Harness User Practical Course (completed at our Training Centre), which incorporates:

Practical Training on application of the knowledge gained in the Awareness Theory Training
Practical Demonstration in the correct pre-use check of a harness and lanyard for use in a MEWP
Practical Testing on demonstrating the correct procedure of the: pre-use check of a harness and lanyard for use in a MEWP, fitting and adjustment of a harness and lanyard for use in a MEWP and attaching to the correct anchor point in a MEWP and adjustment of the lanyard to provide effective restraint.

IPAF ePAL

From 01 June 2021, all IPAF PAL cards and certificates applied for will be issued in digital format via the ePAL App.

Operators can download the app for free on Apple iOS and Android devices and use it to view and access their digital PAL Cards, Logbooks and IPAF Safety Guides. Our Instructors will talk you through this process at the start of your IPAF course.

CDC will be using the new IPAF Digital PAL Card Licence Application (ePAL) to process all IPAF certification.
