The IPAF MEWP Operator combined training course gets you two powered access categories 3A (Mobile Vertical) and 3B (Mobile Boom) on your PAL License.
Our industry leading IPAF course allows candidates to complete the theory part of their course via e-Learning from the comfort of their home, only needing to attend their practical training and assessment with us when convenient.
Take advantage of the IPAF’s world-class e-Learning module which covers its full part of your theory training programme. The powered access online training has been created to allow delegates to gain and develop the required knowledge outside of the classroom, from any device.
Completing the e-Learning Module alone does not qualify you as an operator – industry standards require both the knowledge gained in the e-learning theory session and assessed operation of the equipment to demonstrate proficiency and competence.
Once you have completed your e-Learning, you must also complete the practical training and assessment at our IPAF Approved Training Centre to obtain a PAL Card (IPAF Powered Access Licence) and certification, which are valid for 5 years and internationally recognised in over 70 countries.

Following steps are required to complete your training:
Delegates are required to attend their practical training with us within 45 days of completing the e-Learning Module to sit their theory exam and undertake practical training and assessment (Due to Covid-19 this has been temporarily increased to 90 days).
Please note: Both the e-Learning and Practical Modules must be completed within 6 months of the date of your booking.
Prior to attending your Practical, you will need to bring a copy of your ‘Completion Receipt’ to the course for your Instructor to verify – without this you will be refused entry.
Upon entry to the course, you will be asked to complete an open book multiple choice questionnaire which is based on the knowledge gained from the e-learning, this will be followed by a practical training and assessment session, lasting a minimum of 4 hours, however this is dependent upon knowledge and experience of using MEWP’s.
Please note: You must have a good understanding of spoken and written English to be able to attend this course.
From 01 June 2021, all IPAF cards & certificates applied for will be issued in digital format via the ePAL App.
Operators can download the app for free on Apple iOS and Android devices and use it to view and access their digital PAL Cards, Logbooks and IPAF Safety Guides. Our Instructors will talk you through this process at the start of your IPAF course.
CDC will be using the new IPAF Digital PAL Card Licence Application (ePAL) to process all IPAF certification.
