The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Blended Learning (Blended Classroom Course) course has been developed for every individual that needs an understanding of first aid at work and is looking to become a fully qualified First Aider, regardless of the industry they are in.

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

Please note that a completion of an e-Learning Online Training Module in advance of your course is mandatory to be eligible to attend your 2-days weekend course.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Training Course Overview

Over a weekend 2-day period, prospective candidates will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including but not limited to:

• Assessing an incident
• Managing an unresponsive casualty
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• Heart attacks
• Choking
• Head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.

Your course content will include:

Unit 1 – Emergency First Aid in the Workplace

1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider
2. Be able to assess an incident
3. Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
4. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
5. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
6. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
7. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries

Unit 2 – Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace

1. Be able to conduct a secondary survey
2. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
3. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
4. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
5. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
6. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
7. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
8. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
9. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness

Important Notes:

• You will be expected expected to complete both your theory and practical elements of this training course in full for a pass grade
• You must have a good understanding of spoken and written English to be able to attend and complete this course
