Unvented G3 + Water Regulations Combined Training Course Overview
This qualification is intended for plumbing or heating engineers involved in the installation, commissioning, service and repair of hot water systems, solar thermal hot water systems or air/ground source heat pumps.
Course content includes (Unvented Course):
- Relevant aspects of the Water Regulations, Building Regulations, British Standards and other related legislation
- Unsafe situations and emergency actions
- Pipework (including sizing, installation, defects and faults)
- Testing (covers standing and working pressures, flow rates)
- Safety
- Controls
- Installation requirements
- Commissioning, maintenance and servicing
- Vented hot water systems
- Unvented hot water systems
- System design
- Types of unvented hot water systems
The course will also cover all aspects of the 1999 Water Regulations (Water Regulations Course), including:
- The requirements for blackflow prevention
- The requirements for hot and cold water services
- The installation requirements for WCs, flushing devices and urinals
- The location and installation requirements for the types of bath, sink, showers and taps
- The consumption limitations for washing machines, dishwasher and other appliances
- The requirements for water supplied for outside use.
Course Pre-requisites (Photocopies are required and must be emailed in advance after booking).
Prospective candidates must hold one of the following:
- Appropriate S/NVQ Level 2 or 3 or BTEC or equivalent. OR;
- Appropriate industry registration scheme, for example, Gas Safe Register, ACS, OFTEC 105E or equivalent. OR;
- At least two years industry experience of installation of domestic heating and hot water systems currently un-certificated skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or 3 supported by witness testimony from an appropriate responsible person (letter to be provided in advance via email after booking). OR;
- At least two years industry experience of design and advice services of domestic heating and hot water systems to NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent supported by witness testimony from an appropriate responsible person. (letter to be provided in advance via email after booking).
