Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems Course Overview

This qualification is intended for plumbing, aircon or heating engineers involved in the installation, commissioning, service and repair of hot water systems, solar thermal hot water systems or air/ground source heat pumps.

Course content includes:

Relevant aspects of the Water Regulations, Building Regulations, British Standards and other related legislation
Unsafe situations and emergency actions
Pipework (including sizing, installation, defects and faults)
Testing (covers standing and working pressures, flow rates)
Safety
Controls
Installation requirements
Commissioning, maintenance and servicing
Vented hot water systems
Unvented hot water systems
System design
Types of unvented hot water systems

Course Pre-requisites (Photocopies are required and must be emailed in advance after booking).

Prospective candidates must hold one of the following:

Appropriate S/NVQ Level 2 or 3 or BTEC or equivalent. OR;
Appropriate industry registration scheme, for example, Gas Safe Register, ACS, OFTEC 105E or equivalent. OR;
At least two years industry experience of installation of domestic heating and hot water systems currently un-certificated skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or 3 supported by witness testimony from an appropriate responsible person (letter to be provided in advance via email after booking). OR;
At least two years industry experience of design and advice services of domestic heating and hot water systems to NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent supported by witness testimony from an appropriate responsible person. (letter to be provided in advance via email after booking).
