Our NICEIC Water Regulations training course is ideal for experienced Plumbers, Aircon & Gas Engineers looking to enhance their knowledge on the installation, commissioning and servicing of hot water systems systems, cold water systems or air/ground source heat pumps in accordance with current legislation.
Water Regulations Training Course Overview
The training is completed in the morning which includes an overview of the current legislation. The assessment will be held in the afternoon and comprises of a multiple-choice theory paper.
The course covers all aspects of the 1999 Water Regulations, including:
- The requirements of the Water Regulations
- Fluid Categories
- Terminology used in the Regulations/Bye-laws
- Requirements for materials and substances in contact with wholesome water
- The requirements of water fittings
- Design and installation requirements for water systems
- The requirements to prevent cross connection to unwholesome water
At the end of this course, delegates will gain an understanding in:
- The requirements for blackflow prevention
- The requirements for hot and cold water services
- The installation requirements for WCs, flushing devices and urinals
- The location and installation requirements for the types of bath, sink, showers and taps
- The consumption limitations for washing machines, dishwasher and other appliances
- The requirements for water supplied for outside use.
Course Pre-requisites (photocopies are required and must be emailed in advance after booking)
Prospective candidates must hold one of the following:
- Appropriate S/NVQ Level 2 or 3 or BTEC or equivalent. OR;
- Appropriate industry registration scheme, for example, Gas Safe Register, ACS, OFTEC 105E or equivalent. OR;
- At least two years industry experience of installation of domestic heating and hot water systems currently un-certificated skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or 3 supported by witness testimony from an appropriate responsible person (letter to be provided in advance via email after booking). OR;
- At least two years industry experience of design and advice services of domestic heating and hot water systems to NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent supported by witness testimony from an appropriate responsible person. (letter to be provided in advance via email after booking).

Accreditation
Following successful completion of both the theory and practical elements of your training course with us, you will be awarded your NICEIC Water Regulations certificate of competence, valid for 5 years.
Successful candidates will have sufficient knowledge of the Water Regulations to ensure that all installation work is carried out in accordance with the current legislation.
